Stan Holland was appointed the first Campus Operating Officer of Berkeley College, Newark, in August 2006. He assumed the Campus Operating Officer position at the Woodbridge location in June 2013. In this role Mr. Holland oversees day-to-day operations, finances, student and staff retention, space management, community outreach, and expansion at both locations. He also monitors policies relating to personnel, including training and professional development programs.
Mr. Holland served as Director of the International Trade Bureau for Reverend Jesse Jackson’s Wall Street Project; Executive Director of the Northeast Region for Sylvan Learning Systems, Inc.; and Director of Project Achieve, a federally sponsored program under the Workforce Investment Act for the Bergen County government in Hackensack, New Jersey. He has also held positions on the faculty of the University of Maryland (Korea, Germany, and Baltimore campuses), Florida Institute of Technology, Coppin State College, Harford Community College, Dundalk Community College, Teach for America, Department of Defense Schools, Baltimore City and Newark Public Schools, and Bergen Community College.
Mr. Holland is a veteran Army officer who has served his country as a battery and battalion commander, project manager and test engineer, researcher, executive officer, operations and training officer, and personnel officer. Mr. Holland earned his M.B.A. from Florida Institute of Technology and his B.A. in political science and English from Hampton University. He also studied engineering on a special year assignment from the military at Georgia Institute of Technology.
