Karen Oliver Moore is a vice president, Communications in the Global Communications Department at Prudential Financial, Inc., responsible for public relations, media relations and other external and internal communications services for various corporate departments at Prudential including Law Compliance External Affairs and Business Ethics, Global Business & Technology Solutions, the Office of Veterans Initiatives, Global Security, Supplier Diversity and Procurement.
Moore joined Prudential in 1990 as editor of the corporate newspaper, Leader. In 1991, she transferred to the Public Relations department, which was later renamed Global Communications. She assumed her current position in 2001. She also is an adjunct professor at Rutgers University-Newark, where she teaches African American literature.
Previously, Moore was editor of employee, retiree and shareholder newspapers at Bankers Trust Company, Texaco, and AT&T. Before that, she was a reporter with United Press International.
Moore has a BA degree from Howard University and an MA degree from Rutgers University. She is Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of Women’s e-News; a Fellow with Leadership Newark; Senior Warden at Grace Episcopal Church in Plainfield, NJ; and former Board President for Homefirst: Interfaith Housing and Family Services.
